DOHA: A CNG (compressed natural gas) filling station is being readied as a pilot project and expected to fuel a number of Mowasalat buses and taxis soon. The launch of the CNG-fired vehicles is to coincide with the Climate Change Conference that is scheduled to be held here by month-end.
According to local Arabic daily Al Raya the CNG filling station is the first such facility built in the country (in the Industrial Arae for small and medium enterprises) as a pilot project by Qatar Petroleum (QP) in collaboration with Mowasalat.
The project has been launched on an experimental basis and based on feedback from it more such stations would be built in furure.
