DOHA: Many internationally-renowned surgeons and experts will discuss the latest developments in foot and ankle care surgery during a conference in Doha soon.  More than 250 local and international experts will attend the First International Symposium on Orthopaedics, Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Under the auspices of H E Abdullah bin Khaled Al Qahtani, the Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health, and Dr Hanan Al Kuwari, Managing Director of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at HMC will host the conference on November 23 and 24 at the St Regis Hotel in Doha.

Dr Mohammad Al Ateeq Al Dowsari, Head of Orthopaedics, Director of the Bone and Joint Institute and Chairman of the Organising committee of the conference said, 10 internationally-renowned surgeons from the US, Canada, Germany, the UK, Switzerland and Hong Kong will present advancements in the field.

“They will be joined by healthcare professionals in related fields, such as physiotherapy and sports medicine from Qatar and the region,” Dr Al Dowsari said.

Foot and ankle care and surgery and techniques have evolved rapidly in recent years and the Bone and Joint Institute has been established at Hamad General Hospital to bring these techniques to our patients. This is part of HMC’s evolution into an Academic Health System.
