World's future linked to peace, development in South Asia: Sharif

Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said world's future is linked to peace and development in South Asia.

Pakistan wants good relations with neighbouring countries and is promoting connectivity for regional development, Radio Pakistan quoted Sharif as saying on Sunday.

About TAPI gas pipeline project, Sharif said the project will be a game changer for Pakistan, and will open new vistas of regional economic cooperation towards progress and prosperity.

He said the project will provide affordable gas and will also avail cheap electricity to the country.

The prime minister also said Pakistan will extend every possible cooperation in establishing peace in Afghanistan.

Sharif said Pakistan has assured its full support to the Afghan leadership in peace and reconciliation process in the war-ravaged country.

He said Pakistan will use its influence to bring Afghan Taliban to the negotiating table.
