Nazia Tabasum will lead a 14-player Qatar team in the UAE International Women’s T20 Cup, which will start on December 14 in Sharjah, UAE.
The Qatar Women’s team, besides skipper Nazia, includes Mohammad, Nahan Arif, Rizpha Bano, Khadija Imtiaz, Shahreen Nawab, Sharon Nalini, Kerry Pounsett, Sreeja Krishnama, Ambika Periaswamy, Divi Mishra, Vinola De Souza, Hiral Agarwal and Zainab Ameesha.
Gul Khan Jadoon is the head of delegation while Mariam Khan will be the manager of the team which is coached by Shivani Mishra. Noureen Javaid will accompany the team as physiotherapist.
The Qatari team left Doha yesterday. Today, the girls will take part in an intensive training session ahead of their opening match of the seven-team championship against Kenya. Other participating teams of the tournament are Malaysia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Uganda.
 The teams have been split into two groups. Qatar, Kenya, Malaysia and the UAE have been placed in the Group A, while the Group B consists of Kuwait, Oman and Uganda.
Qatar’s second match is against Malaysia in Ajman on December 15 and after a day’s rest, they will conclude their group engagements with a clash against the hosts UAE in Sharjah on December 17.  
Two top teams from each group will clash for two berths in the final after cross semi-final on December 18. The final will be held at Sharjah on December 19.
