Thriving Together’ an event held yesterday to highlight the achievements and legacy of Qatar Foundation (QF) was attended by H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of QF, together with Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. 

H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice-Chairperson and CEO, QF, a ministerial delegation and several diplomats were also present at the event, designed to showcase QF as an exemplary organisation delivering impact on a local, regional and international level.

The event showcased QF’s achievements and growth over the last two decades, demonstrating how QF is aligned with the nation’s vision, and communicating a clear direction for the future of the organisation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari, Minister of Justice H E Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr Al Mohannadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs H E Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari were also present at the event. 

During ‘the town hall,’ set up at the Qatar National Convention Center, gave an opportunity for the dignitaries to speak with QF management, students and faculty members. 

Sheikha Hind and the Ministers also toured and exhibition showcased highlighted QF’s achievements during its 22-year history and outlined the organisation’s plans for the future.

The event held a session to discuss QF’s partnerships, initiatives, and biggest contributions in education and scientific research. 

Dr Ahmad M. Hasnah, President, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), said, “Today’s Thriving Together event is of substantial value to us at QF as key players in education, research and community development, as well as our stakeholders in government. Our discussions and conclusions will enable us to better strategize and cement our partnerships with valued national entities, in line with Qatar’s priorities, now and for the years to come.”

Dr Hamad Al Ibrahim, Executive Vice-President, QF R&D, said, “Qatar Foundation is an organisation dedicated to realizing the ambitions of the nation, yet our values are universal. Our mission is one that transcends borders and relies on global dialogue and international partnership. And now, more than ever, it is important that Qatari institutions work together for the overall advancement of this nation.”

While, on the sidelines of the event , Dr Al Hammadi lauded QF’s role and its achievements in education. He said QF has all types of educational institutions, such as pre-university education and specialised education, and play the role in meeting the needs of the country and provide the latest educational programs in the world. He also praised the cooperation between QF and the Ministry of Education in exchanging experiences, opinions, training and capabilities.
