DOHA: The Qatar Olympic Committee(QOC) has received over 725 applications, submitted online, by individuals seeking to become volunteers for the National Sport Day (NSD) next month.
The Qatar Olympic Committee Volunteer Application for the NSD was launched January 9 with the objective of creating a group of individuals committed to support QOC's contribution for the NSD.
With a wide availability of positions ranging from Marketing and Survey Support, to Special Events, Media Operations and other QOC National Sport Day related activities, the QOC Volunteer Programme offers candidates the opportunity to use their skills, gain knowledge, experience and make long-lasting friendships with people from diverse backgrounds while contributing to the success of the NSD.
The National Sport day is celebrated every second Tuesday of February.
Various ministries, government departments, public and private sector organisations and sports clubs will be organising sporting activities on February 12.
The event aims to create awareness about sports and its health benefits. (QNA)
