DOHA: The US Embassy has clarified that Qataris travelling to the US are not required to obtain a new visa in case they change or renew their passports after stamping the visa as long as the old visa is valid.
Responding to a report carried by The Peninsula yesterday on US visa procedures for Qataris, the embassy said, “If your visa is still valid you can travel to the US with your old and new passports, as long as the name and other personal data are the same in both.”
The report had said applicants are required to obtain a fresh visa if they changed their passports after the visa was stamped.
