DOHA: The WISE Learners’ Voice Programme 2014-15 ends its first residential session in Doha this week. The 10-day module brought together 34 young learners from around the world, including six Qataris. It aimed to provide them with a foundational understanding of key concepts and evolving trends in education, and training in leadership and communication skills.
The focus on education, leadership and communication is designed to support participants as they research and develop innovative education projects throughout the year-long programme. Learners examined pressing issues in education and explored innovative approaches that addressed them. They began planning collaborative group projects which identify innovative educational solutions to challenges in the sectors of health, environment, technology and the arts. As well as various online activities, the learners will participate in a second residential session in Madrid, in June.
Selected projects will be presented at the 2015 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Summit in Doha in November. The Peninsula
