Turkey’s Mobiliyum to open branch in Qatar

DOHA: Turkish furniture conglomerate, Mobiliyum, is set to open its branch in Qatar. This was announced by the group’s Chairman Talha Taimur Khan (pictured) during his visit to Doha.
Turkey’s first furniture mall Mobiliyum is said to be the Europe’s largest mall dedicated to furniture and related products, and one of the largest in the world. Strategically located in İnegöl, a city in the Bursa Province of Turkey, the mall houses country’s all leading furniture manufacturers and retailers.
Mobiliyum brings together investors with manufacturers, wholesalers with retailers and distinguished products of high quality with buyers on the indoor area of 225,000 square metres with 200 shops and 200 local furniture manufacturing brands.
“We are here to explore investment opportunities, and also to establish partnership with local businesses and investors to begin operations in Qatar. We are looking forward to opening a branch of Mobiliyum mall in our brotherly country—Qatar—which is not only a fast growing economy but also strategically located along the coast of Arabian Gulf offering gateway to African and Asian markets,” Talha told The Peninsula on the sidelines of Mobiliyum B2B Forum.
He added: “We are the largest manufacturers of high quality hand-made furniture. Mobiliyum offer a wide-range of world-class furniture, which are exported to almost all major countries of the world in all continents.”
Being located on historical Silk Road and close to sources of raw materials, İnegöl has been the heart of furniture sector in Turkey. It meets about 50 percent of furniture production needs of the country providing employment opportunities to over 30,000 people and exporting to more than 150 countries worldwide. It became an important building block of the economy within a very short period of time.
Talha noted that the quality of Mobiliyum products is much more superior and the prices are competitive compared to its European rivals such as Italian manufacturers.
He added that the Qatari market has great potential for growth and expansion. “We have already started serving the Qatari market. But currently our presence is very limited, and we intend to develop and grow in a big in Qatar to serve the local market as well as the region.”
The Chairman of the furniture mall also held meetings with several Qatari businessmen and potential investors, and invited them to visit its facilities in İnegöl, Turkey.
Mobiliyum furniture mall developed at the whopping cost of $100m, has made the most significant investment into turning the İnegöl city into the furniture centre of the World. It has brought together thousands of products with their buyers in a huge comfortable indoor complex. It has made shopping for furniture pleasant and simple.
Mobiliyum mall offers both classic and modern furniture products, and targeting high and higher-middle class customers in Qatar and the region.
