Doha: The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC Qatar) recently hosted an expert-led virtual discussion on ‘India’s National Education Policy’ initiated by IBPC Vice-President Abdul Sathar.
It was well-received by over 500 members and participants from the Indian school community in Qatar as well as educationalists from India and other GCC countries.
Chief Guest Sachin Shankpal, First Secretary Culture, Education & Information at Indian Embassy, appreciated the event on a topic of current relevance.
Shankpal added that this event was important to help professionals, students, and the general public to gain insights into the national education policy.
Prof K K Aggarwal, former Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), in his keynote address, spoke about the changes in the national education policy.
The old policy needed to be updated to keep pace with global education standards.
Aggarwal stated that the new policy was adopted by the Indian government recently because of loopholes in the previous education policy.
The new policy of 2022 will provide lots of attention to students with “special needs” and to all Indian children across the nation and overseas at all levels, in line with latest Global trends.
