Doha: MES Indian School has observed World Hindi Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. 

The Day is celebrated on  January 10, every year to mark the anniversary of the first time that Hindi was spoken in the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1949. It is an important day for celebrating and promoting the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of Hindi. 

The chief guest of the day, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, Principal, MES Indian School, stressed the importance of using the Hindi language in our daily life and urged everyone to feel proud of the national language, Hindi. Rajendran S, Coordinator, Department of Hindi spoke on the occasion. To enhance the confidence level of students to express themselves in Hindi, the school organised various competitions and activities such as Recitation, Storytelling, Just –a Minute, colouring. Students participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm. 

The results:  In Class -I (Sub-Junior Hindi Word Making Competition) Bahiyyah Fathima -1N stood first, Ishya Mehak-1I secured the second position and Advik Suvarna-1G won the third position. In Class -II (Days of the Week Writing Competition, Oliviya Liju-2A, Zehra Anoop-2Q and Liyana Zainab-2L won the first, second and third places respectively. In The Class -III Junior – Handwriting competition, Melissa Sara Shaji-3I, Riyola Pais-3P and Manuel Melvin-3J secured the first, second and third places respectively.

In class-IV  the Junior – Just A Minute contest - Safa Fatima won first place, Mahin Malik and Nusaibah shared the second position and Amatullah won the third place. In the competitions conducted in the Boys' Section for class -V Poem Recitation, Parth Sharad, Alron Aranha and Adwik Sudheesh won the first, second and third places respectively.  In class-VI Poem Recitation, Prajwal Sudheer, Mohammed Zayan and Ayaan Suraj bagged the first, second and third places respectively. In the class – VII & VIII Compering Competition, Shaikh Mohammed Yasir, Luqman and Daiwik Parmar  bagged the first, second and third places respectively. 

In the competitions conducted in the Girls' Section of the school for class -V & VI (Poem Recitation) Mythili Menon bagged the first prize, Arisha Aijaz and Safa Shaikh  shared the second position while Neha Salima Anish and Sara and  Gigani came third.  

In the Class -VII & VIII Anchoring contest, Vaishvi Rahul won the first position, Moksha Ketanbhai Patel and Harine Hariesh shared the second position while VedhaVirendra Redkar and Farah Rashid secured the third position. Sameer Pande, Teacher – Department of Hindi declared the results of the competitions. 
Vaishavi Rahul Shah spoke on the occasion.  

Issa Fathima, Sai Krishna, and Mohammed Zidan entertained the gathering with their amazing performance. The school choir played the national anthem.  

Earlier Shaik Mohd Yassir welcomed the gathering.  Master Affan Shamim and Vaishvi compered the programme. Vedha Virendra Redkar proposed a vote of thanks. Rajendran S, Coordinator, Department of Hindi coordinated the event.
