Indian student commits suicide in Australia

Melbourne: An Indian student who had over-stayed his visa committed suicide in an Australian immigration detention centre near here, a newspaper reported yesterday. The 27-year-old hung himself in his cell at the centre on Thursday night, The Sydney Morning Herald said.
Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said the man was found unconscious. Victoria Police said the death was not being considered “suspicious”.
The government expressed sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased and pledged to provide support to police and other authorities to assist with their investigation.

Indian girl falls to death in Dubai
Dubai: An Indian girl died after falling from a tower in Dubai, a media report said. The girl, whose age was not mentioned, fell from a high floor of Gold Crest Views building in Jumeirah Lake Towers here around 5pm on Thursday, the Emirates 24/7 Online reported.
The body was discovered by a Bangladeshi cleaner in the building and his manager called the police. The girl was a resident of one of the penthouses in the building. Police are questioning the building’s managers, cleaners and residents about the incident.

Rainy Friday, light drizzle likely today
New Delhi: The national capital experienced a rainy day yesterday, while the maximum temperature was recorded nine degrees below the season’s average at 14.6 degrees Celsius. Spells of light rain are expected till noon today, the Met Office said.
