Al Arabi whip Shamal; Kharaitiyat win

Doha: Al Arabi recorded a big victory 5-1 against Al Shamal in the 17th round of Qatar Stars League (QSL) yesterday.
Eighth-placed Al Arabi were in total control of the match and opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute through Sergio Paulinho.
Ahmed Khalfan added a second in the 35th minute. Paulinho then added his second of the match and Al Arabi’s third in the 62nd minute. It was four seven minutes later when Seyed Dejagah’s shot was driven beyond the keeper and into the far corner.
Al Arabi kept their foot on the pedal and scored the fifth in the 82nd minute when Boualam volleyed home but Dagano scored a consolation in the 90th minute.
Al Arabi are now eighth in the QSL table with 21 points, ahead of Al Sailiya on goal difference. Al Shamal on the other hand are in last place with seven points from seven matches.
Meanwhile in yesterday’s other match, a brace of goals by A. Hassan in the second half powered Al Kharaitiyat over Al Wakrah at Al Khor Stadium.
