DOHA: Ooredoo yesterday launched the Ooredoo Gaming portal as it expands entertainment offerings for Qatar’s growing online population.
The portal to enable smartphone users to play games on-the-go offers subscribers the ability to download and play unlimited games on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Once subscribed, customers will be able to download games onto their devices, or play online without having to pay for individual games. The portal includes over 500 games, including genres such as puzzles, sports, racing, arcade and action and strategy. Subscriptions start at QR1 per day on a recurring daily subscription. Weekly and monthly recurring subscriptions are available at QR5 and QR20, respectively.
There are no data charges to browse games from the portal at http://vas.ooredoo.qa/games, and the service is available in English and Arabic content.
“We believe our portal will be popular with gamers. Using Ooredoo’s bigger, faster network, people can enjoy very low latency and will never have to worry about lost games. Our portal enables them to enjoy this enhanced performance on an incredible range of games,” said Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director, Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo.
Other entertainment content from Ooredoo includes Mozaic TV, Qatar’s No. 1 TV network provider, and Mozaic GO App. “We are certain that this association will be beneficial for both of us and the growing number of mobile gaming enthusiasts in the country,” said Savio Saldanha, CEO, Middle East & Africa, Nazara Technologies, which is working with Ooredoo on the portal.
