Doha, Qatar: The Agricultural Research and Food Security Forum was held as part of the third day’s activities of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ 13), with the participation of a distinguished group of researchers and experts. The forum discussed the latest research-driven solutions supporting local production and strengthening the food security system in the State of Qatar.

The forum addressed three main themes: transforming agricultural waste into sustainable economic value; enhancing production efficiency in controlled environments and greenhouses; and reviewing smart agriculture applications and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in livestock monitoring and resource optimisation.

Participants emphasised that scientific research and innovation represent a fundamental pillar in improving agricultural productivity, reducing emissions, and strengthening the resilience of food supply chains, thereby supporting sustainability and achieving national food security.

In this context, the Ministry of Municipality is participating with a distinguished pavilion highlighting its efforts in agriculture, food security, and sustainability. The pavilion features a dedicated children’s corner to raise awareness about recycling.
