Amman: H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday conveyed condolences and consolation of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to the sons of the late Dr Sheikh Harith Suleiman Al Dari, Chairman, Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq, in Jordanian capital. He also conveyed condolences to the family and members of the clan of the deceased.
Geneva: The International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions yesterday held first in a series of meetings in Geneva. It was presided over by Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, Chairman, National Human Rights Council. The session focused on lessons learned from the review in Geneva of all human rights councils last year. It also discussed the relationship between human rights councils and their governments and violence against women and human trafficking.
Doha: GCC Awqaf undersecretaries will hold their first meeting here today in preparation for the second meeting of the committee of GCC Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministers to be held in Doha next month.
The two-day preparatory meeting aims to prepare the agenda for the second meeting. The ministers meeting aims to consolidate Arab-Islamic orientation of civilisation in the Gulf society, promote intellectual moderation and good citizenship and develop joint action. QNA
