BEIRUT:  Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Sunday his country was in a state of "medical emergency" because of the threat of coronavirus.

The statement issued by the defence council of Lebanon, which is already facing an economic crisis, called for a "general mobilisation" but did not provide details.
