Flowers are now blooming at the Pakistan International School (PISQ) since it was planted this season in support of the State’s efforts to make Qatar green and beautiful.
This is in line with ongoing initiatives of the Ministry of Municipality such as ‘Plant 10 Million Tree’ and ‘Farm Your Country” programmes engaging community members to play their roles in addressing climate change.

Over 100 flowers were planted by students, school administration and staff at the beginning of this year.
Aside from the planting, the students were educated about the importance of plants in maintaining a healthy environment, such as by releasing oxygen into the atmosphere, absorbing carbon dioxide, supplying nutrients to animals, and controlling the water cycle.

PISQ Principal, Nargis Raza Otho, appreciated these young members of the school and praised them for their active participation in the activity.
She pledged that the school would continue to support and partake in the country’s progressive initiatives and campaigns in addressing climate change.
PISQ had also participated in the government’s “Plant One Million Trees” initiative last year by planting trees of different species at its premises.
