Ooredoo picks 42 winners of Mobile Money contest

Doha: Ooredoo yesterday announced the first 42 winners of the Ooredoo Mobile Money (OMM) Smartphone and LuLu Voucher Prize Draw, which ends on June 6.

The grand prize winners from the competition’s first two weeks were Shereef Muhammedkutty, who won an Apple iPhone 5 (32GB), and  Patricia Okoli, who won a Samsung GT I9300 Galaxy S III (16GB). 

An additional 40 winners each won a LuLu Hypermarket voucher worth QR200.

The draw was held in the presence of an official from the Ministry of Trade, and prizes were presented at Ooredoo Headquarters 2 on Airport Road.

The OMM service enables customers to send money instantly through their mobile phone for collection in 196 countries around the world. 

The service is ideal for customers without bank accounts or with limited access to banking services, since customers can send money securely and conveniently, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Every week, customers can win prizes including smartphones such as the Apple iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S III and BlackBerry Bold; and 20 additional prizes of QR200 Lulu Hypermarket gift vouchers. 

Winners are announced every two weeks and there is no limit to the number of entries per customer.

To register for the OMM service, Shahry or Hala customers with valid Qatar IDs can register at any Ooredoo Shop,or dial *140# on their mobile and follow the simple on-screen instructions.

Once registered, customers can deposit money into their OMM mWallet using any of 200 Ooredoo Self-Service Machines throughout Qatar. 

Deposits can also be made at Ooredoo Shops or direct transfer from a QNB account using the QNB Mobile Payment service. OMM customers do not need to have a QNB bank account. The Peninsula
