Beirut: Qatar and Lebanon have signed the protocol of an agreement, based on which the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will grant the Lebanese Ministry of Culture $25m to fund a new national library.
Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Hamad Mubark Almari, signed the agreement for Qatar, while on the Lebanese side, Minister of Culture Remon Ariji signed it.
Ariji stressed the importance of the agreement, which will fund the new national library project. He said the cooperation reflected the strong ties between the two countries and their keenness on cultural exchange.
