Doha: Ooredoo yesterday announced that it will host international coaches, from the Ooredoo-sponsored Paris Saint-Germain team, to teach football skills to children in Doha. The Academy, named the ‘Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo’ will run from April 20 to 24 and will be available for children aged 8-16.
“We are thrilled to announce our football- training sessions, this is an excellent opportunity to not only bring the skills of one of the most popular football clubs in the world to Qatar, but to inspire the next generation to get active in 2014 and follow their dreams,” said Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director of Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo.
Ooredoo is giving customers a chance to win a place for their child to be part of the academy via a special Paris Saint-Germain social media competition. To enter the competition, parents need to post a 15-second video of their child playing football to Ooredoo’s official Instagram page with the #OoredooParisSaintGermain. The deadline for uploading videos is 20 April.
The Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo is part of the company’s 2014 year of sports campaign, which kick-started in January with a host of events such as the Ooredoo Marathon, National Sport Day activities, and fixtures held around the sporting competitions of Ooredoo’s brand ambassador Nasser Al Attiyah.
The Academy will also be open to the public for coaching sessions of up to four hours each. The training camp is priced at QR1,295 per participant, and there is limited availability.
Participants will receive a Paris Saint-Germain football kit by Nike including a football shirt, shorts and socks included in the price of the session. A certificate will also be issued to the trainees on completion of their course.
Customers with unsuccessful competition entries can alternatively buy a place in the academy for their child by calling the Reservation and Registration department on 66224800, or email infoy@evosportsqatar.com.
