Doha: The growing number of oil producers who have officially confirmed participation in Sunday’s oil producers meeting in Doha has generated a positive feeling that an agreement to restore stability to the global oil market is eminent, the Ministry of Energy said yesterday.
Qatar has invited Opec and non-Opec oil producers to the meeting that, for the first time, would bring together the world’s major oil producers to agree on ways and means of restoring stability to the oil market, the ministry said in a statement.
Early delegates have arrived in Doha and most delegations are expected to arrive today and tomorrow.
The meeting in the morning will be attended by participating countries and covered by more than 100 media personnel. It will be followed by a press conference on the resulting agreement.
