DOHA: The sixth edition of Customer Services in Electricity and Water sectors in GCC, organised by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), was inaugurated yesterday by Engineer Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, president of the corporation.
Held under the banner of GCC Electricity and Water Conservation and Customer Services Committee, the annual event will conclude today with the participation of GCC-based customer services experts and professionals from public utilities.
A number of participants representing their countries through public utilities took part in the first day of the workshop. The delegates reviewed proposals from member states on the development of customer services booklets and literature. They also exchanged ideas and experiences pertaining to customer satisfaction and customer service improvement.
Two presentations were screened by Sheikh Al Mulla and Aisha Al Mutawaa, respectively, addressing the use of social media to enhance customer service and develop front desk customer care professionals.
A presentation on the use of Oracle applications for multiple and hassle-free customer services was also made by Mike J Ballard, Oracle’s senior director for utilities strategy.
The head of the customer services team at the workshop, Engineer Khalid Al Mohannadi, delivered a speech highlighting the challenges being faced in this arena across the GCC.
He welcomed the participating delegates and emphasised the importance of the annual meeting.
The annual event aims at discussing issues related to customer services, including skills and the role of officials in dealing with customers of the vital sectors.
The objectives of the workshop are establishment of services to improve customer service in public utilities in the GCC countries, enhancement of customer service departments and ensuring customer satisfaction.
