Kozoom.com to produce live stream of W9BC in Doha

Doha: Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation (QBSF) has signed up with Kozoom.com to produce the live stream at this year’s World 9-ball Pool Championship (W9BC) in Qatar, it was revealed here yesterday.
“Kozoom Productions is building the web page that will show all the 14 tables live throughout the entire event. Every pool fan will be kept on their toes by the live scoring system, starting with the qualifiers on June 16,” the company has posted on its website www.kozoom.com.
“The final is scheduled for June 27 and only one day break between Stage One and Two, means a complete 11 days of fantastic action coming your way. All this information will be available on the official website of the QBSF www.qbsf.qa in the next few days.”
This year’s W9BC will be held at Al Sadd Stadium. The preliminary rounds - Stage One - will begin tomorrow and will be contested by 128 players.
Stage Two will feature 128 players and will begin on 20. The final will be on June 27. Qatar has the rights to host the World Pool-Billiard Association championship consecutively until 2017.
 The championship is sponsored by Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), while Simonis (cloth) are the co-sponsors. Wiraka Pte Ltd will be the official table providers for the event. The championship is sanctioned by World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and Asian Pocket Billiard Union (APBU).
Thorsten Hohmann of Germany rallied from behind to defeat Antonio Gabica of the Philippines 13-7 to win last year’s championship. The winner of the 2014 World 9-ball Championship will receive $30,000. The runner up will receive $15,000. The total prize fund is $200,000.
Hosts Qatar will have six players in Stage Two while 20 cuesits will compete in the preliminary stage.The Peninsula
