Ambassador of India to Qatar, Dr. Deepak Mittal, and Assistant Director of Public Parks Department, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Saada, during a tree-planting event at Al Mamoura Park.
Doha: Indian Cultural Center (ICC), in collaboration with the Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), organised a tree-planting ceremony at Al Mamoura Park under the ‘Plant Million Tree’ initiative.
ICC has planned to celebrate World Environmental Day by planting 75 trees across Qatar during weeklong related events of planting saplings done at ICC Premises and various Indian Schools.
Ambassador of India to Qatar H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, First Secretary Consular and Community Affairs at Embassy of India S. Xavier Dhanraj, and Assistant Director of Public Parks Department Mohammed Ibrahim Al Saada participated in the tree-planting ceremony.
Dr. Deepak Mittal appreciated the efforts of the Public Parks Department in promoting the planting of trees across the country with a target of one million saplings. All citizens and residents in Qatar will benefit from green environmental promotion by the Government of Qatar. The Ambassador reiterated the commitment of the Indian Community towards achieving the objectives of this year’s theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ Campaign.
PN Babu Rajan and Subramanya Hebbegalu VP, Krishna Kumar GS, and other managing committee members Anish Geroge Mathew, Afsal Abdulmajid, and Sajeev Sathyaseelan participated in the event.
