Doha, Qatar: The Mechanical Equipment Department of the Ministry of Municipality, in cooperation with the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre, organised a blood donation campaign at its headquarters to mark World Blood Donor Day, observed annually on June 14.
The initiative was held as part of efforts to promote social responsibility and reinforce the values of giving and humanitarian solidarity.
The programme included an awareness lecture on the importance of blood donation and its health benefits, delivered by Eng. Marzouq Al Kuwari, Head of the Maintenance and Repair Section. The lecture was simultaneously translated into English and Urdu to ensure the awareness message reached all participants, as part of the department’s efforts to support national and humanitarian initiatives and foster a culture of volunteerism.
The campaign witnessed strong participation from employees and workers, with the number of donors exceeding 100. The strong turnout reflects a high level of awareness of the importance of blood donation and its vital role in supporting healthcare services and helping save lives.
The initiative aims to promote the culture of blood donation and strengthen the spirit of cooperation and humanitarian solidarity, while supporting the efforts of the Qatar National Blood Donation Center in maintaining a safe and sustainable blood supply to meet the needs of patients and hospitals.
The Mechanical Equipment Department expressed its appreciation to the Qatar National Blood Donation Center for its cooperation in organizing the campaign and commended the positive participation of employees and workers.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the implementation of community and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to enhancing public health and promoting a culture of volunteerism, in alignment with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
