DOHA: The Bangladesh Embassy is organising a day-long programme to observe National Mourning Day today.
The event commemorates the assassination of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The event will start with a flag hoisting ceremony at 9.30am. The flag will then fly in half-mast.
The evening programme begins at 6.30pm with the Quran Khani and special prayer for the Father of the Nation and for peace and prosperity of the country. It will be followed by the screening of a documentary on the life of Father of the Nation. There will be reading of messages from the Bangladesh president, prime minister and foreign minister.
