QMD issues marine warning; cautions on hot weather conditions

Doha: According to its latest observations, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has announced that a marine warning will continue "today and tomorrow, as the sea height ranges between 4-7 FT, and the wind speed exceeds 22 KT in some areas".

During this period, QMD advised all citizens and residents to avoid all marine activities including free swimming, boat trips, scuba diving, free diving, surfing, fishing tours, and wind surfing.

QMD also urged everyone to avoid direct sunlight exposure as the country continues to record temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. 

During this hot weather, QMD recommends the following:

1. Wearing comfortable, light-colored clothes to reflect the sun's light.

2. Drink enough fluids.

3. Children to not be left alone in the car

4. Workers' in exposed/outdoor places should take breaks in the shade.
