Doha: An 18-year-old student of Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) who fell unconscious on campus on Thursday is currently being treated at the Hamad Hospital, a statement issued by the university said on Friday.

“We can confirm that a student from CMU-Q was taken ill on campus yesterday (on Thursday) and is currently being treated at Hamad Hospital,” the university said.

“Prior to being taken to hospital, the student was in a private room provided at his request due to his special needs.”

“At this time, the entire CMU-Q community’s thoughts and prayers are with the student and his family,” CMU-Q added.
