Doha, Qatar: HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, stated that the blatant Israeli aggression against Qatar is a serious threat to regional stability that undermines peace efforts, particularly in light of the ongoing war in Gaza Strip.

Speaking at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit on Monday, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasized that Qatar, alongside its partners Egypt and United States, has been exerting continuous efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire and secure the release of hostages and detainees.

He highlighted that Arab and Islamic countries are called upon to stand in solidarity with Qatar, unify their positions, and intensify efforts to urge international community to fulfill its responsibilities in ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in accordance with international law and United Nations Charter.

He reaffirmed Bahrain's firm position calling for an immediate halt to hostilities, protection of civilians, prevention of forced displacement, prompt release of hostages, and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that the Palestinian issue remains central to resolving the Middle East conflict, necessitating direct negotiations leading to a just settlement and the establishment of a viable, independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, as outlined in the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

He also welcomed adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the "New York Declaration” for peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and implementation of the two-state solution.
