DOHA: Qatar will build the largest hospital in the world as part of projects being laid out for FIFA World Cup 2022, Al Sharq reported yesterday, quoting sources in the health sector.
To be named Hamad Bin Khalifa Hospital, the plan for the facility requires it to be completed by 2020. The location for the hospital has been chosen and all preparations for construction completed. The budget for the project has also been finalised. Work is expected to begin soon, said the daily.
A study on the project sought to make the hospital the largest in the world in terms of area, capacity and number and type of specialties. The hospital will be unique in design and architecture and will incorporate the latest technology, said the daily.
