Mogadishu: Death toll from the twin bombings that hit Somalia's capital Mogadishu on Saturday has risen to more than 90.
A security official said Sunday that many of the dead were recovered from the rubble of buildings damaged by the blasts.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo declared a three-day national mourning, with thousands taking to the streets to check on injured relatives or search for relatives still missing.
The Somali President called the attack a national tragedy, calling on people to donate blood to help victims.
He also said affirmed the importance of unity and concerted efforts to eliminate Al Qaeda-linked Al-Shabab militias, calling on the security services to tighten security and to confront any disturbances that may threaten the safety of civilians.
The first explosion occurred near government offices, hotels and restaurants, which led to the destruction of several buildings and set fire to dozens of cars, while the second explosion took part in Mogadishu's Madina district, using a car bomb.
