Members of the Galfar Al Misnad senior management team and dignitaries from the Toastmasters fraternity in Qatar during the GTM 201 meeting at Radisson Blu Hotel.
Galfar Toastmasters Club (GTM), the Corporate Toastmasters Club of leading construction company, Galfar Al Misnad, recently held a celebratory meeting to commemorate the achievement of two major milestones in its journey: its 10-Year Anniversary as well as the successful completion of 200 meetings.
Members of the Galfar Al Misnad senior management team and dignitaries from the Toastmasters fraternity in Qatar graced the event at Radisson Blu Hotel.
The event was attended by key officials of District 116 including District Program Quality Director (PQD), DTM Thayalan K; District Public Relations Manager, TM K. Venkatesan; Division A Director, DTM Dinesh Kumar; Division PQD DTM Subair Pabdavath; and Area Director, TM Sonia Jadhav.
The meeting was presided by current GTM President, Ashwini K. Toppo, who thanked Galfar Al Misnad’s Executive Director and the senior management team for their continued support and patronage under which the club has scaled great heights.
“There has been a discernible improvement in the calibre of staff members that participate in the Toastmasters programme, both in terms of their communication skills as well as their leadership capabilities. Their personal and professional development in turn benefits the company, and equips us to serve our clients better,” said Satish G. Pillai, Executive Director of Galfar Al Misnad.
The evening also witnessed the recognition of Charter members who still actively mentor the Club. Special appreciation was given to Toastmasters of the Club who have taken leadership positions in Area level, Division level, and District level. Toastmasters who have earned laurels for the Club by taking part in Annual Contests in Area Level, Division Level & District Level were also felicitated. Special commendation was given to TM John Henry who has gone up to the District level in the Annual Speech Contest. TM K. Venkatesan was also felicitated for his contribution to the cause of Toastmasters and for taking up a District Level leadership position.
Also felicitated were the winners of the Speech Contest and Galfar Golden Rules (GGR) Online Quiz, that were a part of a month-long campaign on Safety at Work, which was conducted by Galfar Toastmasters and the Galfar QHSE team for all staff members.
To mark the occasion, the evening concluded with a joint cake cutting by the Founder President of the Club, Sheeju David, and the current President, Ashwini Toppo.
