Mohamed El Shorbagy of Egypt along with Nick Matthew of England eased into the quarter-finals of the Qatar Classic Squash Championship at the Khalifa International Squash Complex here yesterday.
The top seed took 55 minutes to saw off the challenge of Leo Au of Hong Kong, winning the dual 3-1(12-10, 11-13, 11-8, 11-8).
El Shorbagy will take on Simon Rosner of Germany in the quarter-finals today.
The seven-seed Rosner eased past James Willstrop of England 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-8) in 45 minutes.
Matthew registered an identical 3-1 (11-5, 11-13, 11-7, 11-9) win over qualifier Alan Clyne of Scotland.
The Englishman will take on Gregoire Marche of France in the last eight stage.
All the quarterfinals will be played today.
