DOHA: The Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) honoured today a number of Arab and Asian community heads.
The honoring ceremony was held at the Officers’ Club of the General Directorate of Civil Defense and comes as part of the celebrations of Qatar Human Rights Day and the International Day for Tolerance.
The event was attended by Colonel Saad Salem Al Dosari, Assistant Director of the Human Rights Department at the MoI; Abdullah Mahdi Al Yami, representative of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Captain Dr. Abdul Latif Hussein Al Ali from the Human Rights Department at the MoI, and several officers and members of the communities.
Addressing the event, Al Dosari gave a speech in which he affirmed the keenness of the Ministry to participate in these celebrations, as an embodiment of its contribution to the promotion and protection of human rights through its security and service work.
He pointed out that the main objectives of communicating with the communities are to educate them about their rights and obligations, emphasizing their clear role in building and development, identifying the needs and problems of the members of the communities, and working to overcome and resolve them, and achieve community partnership in maintaining security.
