Wengen, Switzerland---Former Olympic and world champion Bode Miller says he is yet to fully recover from his back operation and has pulled out of Sunday's Wengen downhill world cup event.
The 37-year-old underwent surgery in November and had been training in Switzerland ahead of the Wengen event.
"I won't be starting on Sunday. I feel better, I'm finding my balance, but I'm not quite ready," said the American star of the circuit who won the super-G bronze at Sochi.
"And I'm not sure yet if I'll do the downhill at Kitzbuhel (next weekend)," he said.
The four-time former world champion is hoping to be fit enough to take part in the upcoming 2015 world championships on home snow at Vail and Beaver Creek in Colorado, which starts February 15.
