Doha: The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari received an invitation from his Algerian counterpart Nadia Labidi to participate in a ceremony to celebrate Constantine as the Capital of Arab Culture 2015.
It will be held on April 16 under the patronage of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Constantine was selected to be the next capital of Arab Culture due to its 2,500-old history.
Algerian Ambassador of Culture to Arab Countries Ezz el din Al Mayhoubi handed the invitation to the Director of the Department of Arts of Culture at the ministry, Faleh Al Ajlan Al Hajri.

Doha: The Minister of Justice H E Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr Al Mohannadi held separate meetings with Ambassadors Shahzad Ahmed (Pakistan) and Ekaterine Meiering-Mikadze (Georgia).
Talks dealt with legal and judicial cooperation between Qatar and their countries and matters of mutual concern.
Kahramaa holds session for staff
Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) held the fourth session of its cultural season 2014-15 that comprises personality and confidence-building programmes for staff.
It was in line with the company’s corporate objective to attract, develop and retain a high-performing workforce and support Qatarisation.
The two-day session focused on positive thinking, personal and career planning, how to set a positive objective, creativity and mind map, Kahramaa said in a statement.
It aimed to support employees in creating an environment where they feel supported and encouraged in their personality development endeavours to deliver high-quality outputs within a healthy work environment.
The season started last June and ends this March.
Vodafone begins
to boost network
DOHA: Vodafone Qatar has started to undergo significant network enhancements which will result in an improved customer experience and faster Internet speeds.
The enhancements will be phased and rolled out across Doha.
Customers in the impacted areas may experience a service interruption for some hours.
Vodafone said it will notify customers in the impacted areas via SMS ahead of enhancements.
