DOHA: Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani met yesterday with the Qatari security forces participating in securing the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy taking place from February 6 to 22, 2026.

The Minister urged the Qatari security force to harness its accumulated experience in securing major championships and to carry out their duties with the highest levels of efficiency and readiness contributing to the success of the Games in a manner that reflects the international confidence in the State’s security system, and wished them success in the performance of their missions.

In a post on X platform, the Minister of Interior said: “The Qatari Task Force has completed its readiness to participate in securing the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy, drawing on its accumulated expertise in securing major sporting events. This reflects the high level of international confidence in our security system, achieved thanks to the directives of H H the Amir. We wish them every success in carrying out their duties.”
