DOHA: Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sports Zone at Corniche will remain open for the public today from 9am to 10pm, featuring a full programme of activities on the last day of events of the National Sport Day 2013.
Featured sports include basketball, handball, tennis, table tennis, athletics, shooting, football, gymnastics and weight lifting. The entertainment stage will have a BMX show, basketball performers, jungle magician, McDonald’s characters, Injaz Wheel, VLCC and Get Fit Stay Healthy.
The zone includes sport information centre, VIP majlis, catering concessions for the public, merchandise store with QOC items and media studio. The initiative aims to widen the scope of community participation in sport and physical activities and promote a sport culture in society to increase awareness about the importance of sport and physical activities.
