Medical students take part in a protest rally in Kolkata yesterday. Junior doctors protested against the Medical Council of India’s (MCI) decision to extend the MBBS degree by two and half years, meaning students will have to complete a one-year internship and serve another year in a rural area on top of the existing five-year course.
