Doha: Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari yesterday attended the opening of ‘Athar ... Traces’ expo organised by Qatari artist Ali Hassan at Anima Gallery at the Pearl-Qatar.
The two-month expo combines classical techniques of calligraphy and abstraction in a contemporary interpretation. The gallery collaborated with Hassan to transcend his ‘Desert Horses’ series into sculptural forms.
The composition leaps out of the canvas into space, forming an intricate dialogue with the concept of scale, dimension and trace. Each sculptural element produced by the gallery is an edition of 6, in different sizes and mediums — bronze, corten and aluminium. QNA
DOHA: Barwa Al Sadd (SPC), a subsidiary of Barwa Real Estate, has concluded signing the sale contract of Barwa Al Sadd Recreation Center with Katara Hospitality for QR81m.
In May 2012, Barwa Real Estate announced it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Katara Hospitality on the sale of Barwa Al Sadd Hotel, its recreation centre, and Somerset Hotel for QR1.1bn. The latest contract signing was part of finalising the deal, Barwa said in a regulatory filing to Qatar Exchange yesterday. Barwa Real Estate transferred the ownership of Somerset Hotel and delivered the centre to Katara Hospitality on 28 November 2012.
