Ivory Coast striker Sagbo yesterday fired two goals as Umm Salal handed Lekhwiya their first loss this Qatar Stars League (QSL)season.
Sagbo (8 and 50) and Mahmoud Al Mawas (61) scored in Umm Salal's 3-1 win under pouring rain at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium
Ismail Mohammed (22) scored the only goal for Lekhwiya in the tense battle.
It was Umm Salal's 8th win of the season whereas QSL points leaders Lekhwiya suffered their first in the 2016-17 season.
The wet but lush green pitch at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium saw players slipping but Umm Salal grabbed a shock lead in the 8th minute of the match.
Umm Salal's Al Mawas - charging down the flank - chipped one towards Salem Khalifa - stationed near the penalty kick spot. But in a hurry to deflect the ball, Khalifa missed his shot and the ball landed at Sagbo's feet.
With a clear shot at the goal, Sagbo calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Kloud Amin leaving Lekhwiya coach Djamel Belmadi fuming at the touchline.
With Qatar national coach Jorge Fossati watching from the stands, Mohammed equalised for Lekhwiya in the 22nd minute.

In the 61st minute, Umm Salal solidified their lead as Al Mawas scored the team's third goal. Sagbo nearly complete a hattrick when he hit the outside of the net from close range in the 78th minute.
