Doha: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MoSDF), represented by the Department of Family Affairs, participated in the “Honey and Kinar” event, which is organised by the Ministry of Municipality represented by the Department of Agricultural Affairs.
This participation comes within the framework of the seasonal activities of national productive projects. It also aims to encourage farmers to increase honey production and provide various national products in the local market for the benefit of the consumer and increase the financial return of the farmer.
This event started on February 9, and will be held over the weekend to last for four weeks in Al Rayyan Public Park (the green carpet). It also comes under the title “Production from our farms” to promote local farm products.
About supporting local projects and expanding organic agricultural products, many production projects specialising in honey and kinar participated in this event in support of the efforts made by the Ministry of Social Development and Family and its keenness to provide all means of support and development to produce national farms.
To attract the audience and introduce them to the benefits of honey and kinar, all kinds of Qatari farms participated in this event to activate the work of agricultural fields, which motivates farmers to increase production, especially considering the multiplicity of crops in Qatar. Thus, the opportunity for national farms is also significant compared to local crops.
The owners of productive projects expressed their appreciation to the Ministry of Social Development and Family for providing this opportunity, due to the importance of honey and kinar for human health.
The kinar fruit contains vitamin A, maintains the health of teeth and bones, and has an important place in Qatari society. As the kinar is the fruit of the sidr tree, which is a tree that Qatari homes are interested in planting. The sidr tree is found all over the State of Qatar. And its honey contains iron, zinc, and has other benefits.
