MULTAN: Three people including two children lost their lives as roof a house caved in as a result of pouring rain here on Sunday.

According to details, heavy rain caused the roof of a dilapidated house located in Chungi Number 4 collapse, injuring four people including two children.

They were shifted to Nishter hospital where three of the injured succumbed to their wounds. Those who died include Zeenat and Ahmed who were only 3 and 8 month old. Nineteen year old Rehan also lost his life while Salimullah, 21, is being treated for his injuries.

Meanwhile, people living in more than 300 worn out housing structures have not yet been shifted to safer places. This should be a cause of alarm for the authorities as it could lead to a big loss in case of a natural or other calamity.
