Doha: Qatar Foundation for Protection and Social Rehabilitation (QFPSR) recently received a delegation of students and officials from the Department of Law at Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College and briefed them on its work and mission.
Dr Yousif Al Mulla, Executive Director, QFPSR, talked about the establishment of the foundation — the result of the merger of Qatar Foundation for Protection of Woman and Child, Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking, and Social Rehabilitation Centre.
He said the merger would promote the integration of the three institutions to provide supporting environment to achieve social coherence and psychological health and security for society.
He also talked about the foundation’s work and goals and provided detailed explanation about services for target groups.
Dr Anwar Mohamed Sidqy Msaedeh, Associate Professor of Criminal Law at the college, said the visit was part of law students’ college programmes to continuously connect with society through scientific research programmes of social disciplines conducted by them in collaboration with Qatari research institutions, such as Qatari Fund for Scientific Research and to get acquainted with institutions concerned with social work, such as QFPSR, which is playing a vital role in protecting vulnerable groups, as well as regional and international agreements in the field.
The visit was for third year law students to express strong collaboration between QFPSR and the college to identify major missions and duties handled by QFPSR to enrich their knowledge.
He thanked QFPSR and Dr Al Mulla for hospitality and efforts to make the visit successful, hoping for continuous cooperation. An introductory Power Point presentation on human trafficking, its concepts and images with reference to Law No. 15 of 2011 was made.
