KARACHI: The Station House Officer of a local police station was killed when gunmen targeted his vehicle in Defence area of Karachi Thursday morning.
According to police, the incident took place on Korangi road in Defence where SHO Preedy police station Ejaz Khawaja was driving his vehicle.
Police said two unknown gunmen riding motorcycles fired on his vehicle. Khawaja died on the spot and his vehicle crashed into the sidewalk, where a local resident informed the police about the incident.
Shortly after the target killing, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Sindh formed a four-member committee to investigate the murder.
The committee will be headed by Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) South Dr Jameel and will include the Senior Superintendent (SSP) South, SSP City, and SSP Investigation, said a spokesman for the Sindh Police.
