DOHA: The rate of inflation in Qatar was 3.7 percent in a year until last April, according to the latest Consumer Price Index released by Qatar Statistics Authority yesterday.
The CPI for April 2013 reached 114, showing an increase of 0.1 percent compared to March this year and an increase of 3.7 percent compared to April 2012.
The highest price increase — 8.2pc — was recorded in the category “entertainment, recreation and culture” followed by “rent, fuel and energy’’ which was 6.2 percent. Furniture, textiles and home appliances saw an increase of 3.1pc.
