DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation’s (AZF) annual Ramadan festival is set to return for a third year titled “Hayyakum b Aspire” to reflect the new distinctive character for this year, incorporating cultural and family activities.

The event has grown significantly since last year and will feature nine different sports, as well as a collection of cultural, religious, and family-orientated activities.

Set to kick off at the end of July, the two-week sports festival will feature beach soccer, basketball, football, flag football, table-tennis for the disabled, handball, volleyball, and remote control car races. An array of fantastic prizes will be on offer.

Registration for both men and women who are 16 years and over opens today, via the website www.aspirezone.qa/ramadan.

President of Aspire Zone Foundation, Hilal Al Kuwari said: “This Ramadan Sports Festival falls under the slogan of “Hayyakum b Aspire” and is designed to help all members of the community stay active throughout the Holy month of Ramadan, which, this year, falls during the middle of summer.

He said Aspire Zone Foundation has always been committed to providing activities for all, including athletes and non-athletes.

“This is the least we can do for the people of Qatar to maximize their benefit enjoying the fabulous venues and services of our Sports City,” Al Kuwari said.

Al Kuwari explained that there will be a number of different aspects to this year’s festival.

He said a number of cultural, religious and charitable events have also been added to the programme this year.

“One of the key themes of Ramadan is family. The activities we offer are designed for the whole family to enjoy together, regardless of age. These include religious lectures in the Aspire Mosque, in addition to a host of other charitable activities,” he said.

The tournaments and various cultural, religious, and charitable activities will be held across the Zone. The Peninsula
