DOHA: Occidental Petroleum of Qatar (Oxy Qatar) has donated the BeachTech 3000 cleaner and a specially made tractor, which will help the General Directorate for Nature Reserves maintain the Sealine Beach safely and efficiently.

“Oxy Qatar is pleased to work with the General Directorate for Nature Reserves to provide this new beach cleaning technology for use at Sealine Beach. Sealine is one of Qatar’s most beautiful and popular beaches, and its wide sandy beach can be maintained with this new equipment. Oxy Qatar is committed to help Qatar protect the environment of the country,” Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Oxy Qatar, said during the handover ceremony.

Saleh Al Kuwari of the General Directorate for Nature Reserves said: “Oxy’s gift of the BeachTech 3000 and the tractor will make the cleaning of Sealine Beach much faster and safer. This equipment will be used extensively to ensure Sealine beach remains a safe and beautiful destination for residents of Qatar and tourists alike.”

The BeachTech 3000 spans 2.5 metres and can pick up large volumes of debris on either wet or dry surface areas.

The attached sand finisher is designed to leave the beach clean and safe.

The tractor is also air-conditioned, which allows for the cleaning of the beach even during the summer months.
