DOHA: Al Sailiya have agreed a deal for their final foreign player for the new season, Issam Jemaa.
The Tunisian striker was with Al Kuwait Club and will soon join his new team-mates in the Qatar Stars League.
Jemma will partner Degano and be another source of goals as the club looks to once again finish in the top four.
The contract is for two seasons and the press conference for presentation of the player will be held soon at the Club’s headquarters.
The 30 year old striker is from the city of Mednin in Tunisia and played for Espérance Sportive de Tunis, one of the biggest teams in the country.
Jemaa also played in France with many teams including Lens; scoring 36 goals then in 2007 he played for Caen. 2011 saw him move to Auxerre for one season before moving to Stade brestois where he made just 10 appearances.
In 2012 he moved to Al Kuwait Club where he hit the back of the net 62 times in 75 appearances. He played for two seasons with the Kuwaiti outfit and won the AFC Cup.
Meanwhile, Al Shamal have made their second signing of this summer’s transfer window with the acquisition of attacking midfielder Alex Sumian.
The Ivorian signed the contract on Monday at the Club’s headquarters after completing his medical. The midfielder impressed enough for a deal with the newly promoted Club.
The team continues with their daily training sessions and will have three friendly matches before they travel abroad for their pre-season training camp.
Al Shamal will face Qatar Sports Club July 17, Al Sailiya on July 22 and Al Gharafa on July 26.
